The Northern Sahara Deserts, Savannas & Marshes bioregion is located in the North Africa subrealm and contains six terrestrial ecoregions—Nile Delta Flooded Savanna (744), Canary Islands Dry Woodlands and Forests (787), East Sahara Desert (822), North Saharan Xeric Steppe and Woodland (833), Saharan Atlantic Coastal Desert (839), West Sahara Desert (845)—along with the Saharan Halophytics (745) totaling over 404 million hectares of land area.
The Northern Sahara Deserts, Savannas & Marshes bioregion is part of the North Africa subrealm and is made up of seven ecoregions: (1) Canary Islands Dry Woodlands and Forests (2) Saharan Atlantic Coastal Desert (3) North Saharan Xeric Steppe and Woodland (4) West Sahara Desert (5) East Sahara Desert (6) Saharan Halophytics (7) Nile Delta Flooded Savanna.
