Onshore Wind

Onshore Wind

Solution Pathway

Onshore wind power involves using wind turbines located on land to convert wind energy into electricity. The kinetic energy of the wind turns the turbine blades, driving a generator to produce electricity. Wind power is one of the most efficient renewable energy sources. Onshore wind farms can be rapidly deployed to provide large-scale, low-carbon electricity, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions and fossil fuel dependence. To harness the full potential of onshore wind, we need streamlined permitting processes, community engagement to address and mitigate local concerns, investment in grid infrastructure to accommodate variable wind energy, and continued technological innovation to increase turbine efficiency and reduce costs.
