Wave Energy

Wave Energy

Solution Pathway

Wave energy, also known as ocean power, involves harnessing the kinetic energy generated by the natural motion of ocean waves to produce electricity. Waves are created when the wind blows over the ocean, moving water molecules at its surface, creating ripples, and eventually generating energy that can be captured and converted into electricity by specialized machines. This clean and renewable energy source has tremendous potential: it is predictable, available anytime, and does not produce greenhouse gas emissions when used. By developing and deploying wave energy at scale, we can channel the ocean’s power into a ceaseless renewable energy source.
