Sarah Hertel, M.Sc

Environmental Scientist

Sarah is an environmental social scientist with a passion for addressing the twin crises of biodiversity and climate change through nature-based solutions. She has spent the last decade working in communications for various organizations, including World Resources Institute, The Nature Conservancy, the Society for Conservation Biology, and the Conservation Measures Partnership. She holds a dual BA in Journalism and History from American University, an M.Sc. in Environmental Conservation from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Environmental Science and Policy at George Mason University. Sarah lives just outside of Washington, D.C., with her husband and two little dogs.
