Rebecca is passionate about advancing research, technology innovation, policy, and partnerships in support of global biodiversity and conservation. She was Senior Program Officer at Vulcan LLC, advising the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation in its charitable grantmaking in ocean health, wildlife, and climate. Rebecca served as elected Chair and Representative of the Advisory Board of the Shark Conservation Fund and Representative of the Advisory Boards of Oceans 5 and Global Fund for Coral Reefs. Prior to this, Rebecca was Senior Program Officer at World Wildlife Fund (WWF) for the Greater Mekong Program, a cross-disciplinary regional conservation program in SE Asia, and was Program Associate at WWF for the Global Freshwater Conservation Science Program that developed the first global freshwater biogeographic data and species mapping system. Rebecca holds a Master of Science in Ecology from McGill University and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Biology from the University of Waterloo.
