Solar Heat

Solar Heat

Solution Pathway

Solar heat is the process of using the sun's energy to heat water or air. Special systems are used to collect and store renewable thermal energy, most often in sealed flat plates with copper pipes, which can then be used for heating buildings or industrial processes. Solar thermal heating and cooling systems are essential to energy resilience as local energy production reduces transmission needs. Solar heating systems are affordable, with a lifetime cost of about one-third of the cost of gas or electric water heaters.
