Legal Empowerment
Lever of Change
Rules only matter if they are enforced. Legal Empowerment is the work of making rights, protections, and commitments real. It uses law, legal defense, compliance systems, watchdog pressure, and rights-based strategies to stop harm, defend communities, and hold powerful actors accountable. This can include challenging unlawful pollution, defending land and water rights, enforcing environmental protections, exposing misconduct, or helping communities use legal tools to protect the places they depend on.
