Electric Heat

Electric Heat

Solution Pathway

Electric heat involves using electricity to generate heat through resistive heating elements or heat pumps, providing an efficient and controllable method for heating buildings. Powered by renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, or hydropower, electric heating can reduce our reliance on fossil fuels by replacing gas powered ovens, water heaters and furnaces. To implement electric heat at scale, increasing the capacity of renewable energy sources and integrating them into the grid is essential. Policies and incentives that encourage the adoption of electric heating systems can accelerate their deployment.
