The Southern Sahara Deserts & Mountain Woodlands bioregion is located in the Southern Eurasia realm (southern Palearctic) and contains four ecoregions – East Saharan Montane Xeric Woodlands (823), South Sahara Desert (842), Tibesti-Jebel Uweinat Montane Xeric Woodlands (844), West Saharan Montane Xeric Woodlands (846) – totaling approximately 329 million hectares of land area.
