The Northern Deccan & Odisha Tropical Forests bioregion is located within the Indian Subcontinent subrealm in Indomalaya and contains four ecoregions—East Deccan Moist Deciduous Forests (228), Orissa Semi-Evergreen Forests (261), Sri Lanka Lowland Rain Forests (274), Sri Lanka Montane Rain Forests (275), North Deccan Dry Deciduous Forests (297), Godavari-Krishna Mangroves (316)—totaling approximately 44 million hectares of land area.
